Sierra West Tree Service was on my street (ELM) yesterday. They are preparing an estimate for Caltrans to clear debris and fallen trees 30 feet from the road. They marked a lot of areas. While this is somewhat of a good sign, we also know from a reliable source that Caltrans only has money for fire mitigation on five rental properties within the ROW. Moreover, 30 feet does not really do it for us. Furthermore, the Sierra West arborist confirmed that the ROW is a fire hazard and should be thinned of numerous trees.
