As reported by Cid Young on Nextdoor: the County Board of Supervisors has granted the Montara Water and Sanitary District rights to take over the CalTrans Right-of-Way.
However, there must be a “Trails Plan” in order for this to happen. The County Planing Director, Steve Monowitz, has been stalling on creating a “Trails Plan”, so we’re currently caught in a catch-22.
Cid also mentioned seeing a piece of equipment that CalTrans could be used to get rid of the fuel load that has been piling up (cut down from the ROW but not removed from the area): https://airburners.com/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=5289942&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-_FBhBzEiwA7QEqyFid8RWK65YpbdfisyXTEQNvBDl6AnwyAnGOPW1uJCiAU_SnsBhqbBoCZRoQAvD_BwE burns clean and reduces the wood debris to smaller amounts!
