I asked Caltrans for specifics on the project funded to mitigate fire risk in the ROW. Here is their answer:

Hi Larry, The team who will be working on this project is being assembled, and we don’t yet know what the start date will be. I’d also like to have specifics on the scope, as you mention, before sending out any communication. As soon as I know more, I will be in touch with you, and will send details to the community.

First, I believe Jeneane, the public affairs representative for Caltrans District 4, is being as forthright as possible and is doing a great job of keeping the lines of communication open. What frustrates me is that a project to mitigate the fire risk in the ROW that was submitted to and funded by a public commission is not readily available to the public. RAMMB will stay on top of this. In the best case scenario Caltrans would just do a Press Release.
